Welcome to my first edition as Editor of the Johns Creek Community Association's News Nuggets.  As a relatively new addition to the neighborhood,  I am looking forward to learning much about the workings of Johns Creek and activities in the Community.   I hope to include many articles in future editions that will inform you,  make you aware of issues concerning our City  and,  hopefully,  introduce you to some fun events.  Communications are vital to the success of us all.   We would like for you to depend on this Newsletter for information.   Maybe you have "liked" us on Facebook?  Have you found us on LinkedIn yet?   Do you look for our education sessions on our webpage?   Did you participate in our recent survey on billboards?   We are trying a variety of different ways to get the word out in Johns Creek about all this City has to offer.  I look forward to the opportunity to  help our community thrive.  I also look forward to meeting you at a community event  soon.

CZIM Meeting
Thursday, November 3, 7pm

The JCCA Zoning Committee holds a monthly Community Zoning Information Meeting (CZIM) to discuss upcoming zoning applications, give developers an opportunity to meet with the community, and give the commuity an opportunity to understand potential zoning changes in Johns Creek.   The November 3 meeting will be held at 7pm, Corporate Office Center, 11330 Lakeview Drive, Building Two, in Johns Creek.   The public is welcome.

This month, we have 3 cases to review:

Jones Bridge Road and Addison Parkway- Requests a change in  zoning to allow for a playground for a proposed Montessori Daycare.   There is a  concurrent variance to allow the rest of the strip center to remain commercial.   This location is adjacent to the Ocee Library.

Old Alabama Road-Requests a Special Use Permit to allow for the expansion of the St. Brigid Catholic Church.

Medlock Bridge Road at Parsons Road- Requests a change in zoning to allow Racetrac Convenience Store with fuel pumps  and a concurrent variance to allow a utility box to remain.

Johns Creek City Council Candidate Forum

Wednesday, November 2, 6:30 pm

The JCCA is co-sponsoring, with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, a Candidate Forum to highlight our candidates for City Council.  All three candidates have accepted our invitation.  The evening will begin at 6:30 with a "meet and greet" session with the candidates.  The formal session begins at 7 pm.  We will have a moderated session with prepared questions for each of the candidates to answer regarding inportant city issues.  We also will review what the Johns Creek ballot will include, in an effort to allow the community to make informed decisions as they vote on Tuesday, November 8.   The event will be held at Corporate Office Center, 11330 Lakeview Drive, Building Two,  Johns Creek.  The event will run until 9pm.  Soon the JCCA will be sending out invitations to our contacts.   This forum is open to the public.

Safety Inspections Required for Neighborhood Clubhouse and Pool Houses

Fire safety is serious business, and it can also be a life saver.  Our neighborhood clubhouses and pool houses are sometimes overlooked when it comes to safety reviews.  Our Fire Marshall, Chad McGiboney, would like to have a contact person for each neithborhood so that they can schedule a  safety review time convenient to you.  You can contact Chad at Timothy.McGiboney@johnscreekga.gov
